Could we please have the "LastModified" extension enabled on the wiki? #8636

Describe what you would like us to do:

While looking of ways to indicate how old or new a wiki page was, I ran into this "LastModified" extension:

https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Extension:LastModified

It simply puts a "last modified .... ago" text to the top of the page. This tells the reader the age of the page, and therefore helps them decide how much the information should be trusted.

When do you need this to be done by? (YYYY/MM/DD)

Whenever, it isn't urgent at all. :)

The package review was approved.

The plugin has different releases for different mediawiki versions. May I please know what version of Fedora the wiki is running on, and could you also confirm what version of mediawiki it is? I'll build versions of the plugin accordingly.

Both F30 and F31 have the same version of mediawiki, and so will have the same version of the plugin so an update isn't currently required. I'll have the packages built before the end of the day. Thanks!

Yeah, I am not sure... it loaded fine, but doesn't appear doing anything.

However, I also note, our Fedora theme has in the footer the same info...

ie, https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/31/Schedule has:
" This page was last edited on 26 August 2019, at 12:55.Content is available under Attribution-Share Alike 3.0 Unported unless otherwise noted."
the second line from the bottom... not sure thats the same info you need or not.

If that info can be moved to the top of the page to make it more visible to users, then we don't need the plugin. The message in the footer is not visible enough IMO. It's more likely for someone to check page history instead (which while seasoned community members may do, users who find our wiki pages using searches etc. would not).

The idea really just is to make it clearly apparent to a reader what the state of the page is. The main target audience here are end users who are not wiki savvy.

Considering F33 freeze ends in two days, I'll update the wiki theme POST F33 release and we'll be able to close this ticket :)

Alright, the mediawiki-skin-fedora package got updated to 0.09. Apache has been restarted and it looks like we have the last modified information now display near the top.
