We decided to start a Review of older Quick Docs articles:
URL: https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/reset-root-password/
Metadata Update from @anthonymcglone:
I've had a comment in this section:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/reset-root-password/#sect-reset-password-using-the-fedora-live-media
Please check for more information : -> https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/quick-docs/bootloading-with-grub2/#restoring-bootloader-using-live-disk
Regards.,
I just looked this over and see that there is nothing about the current default config with btrfs, and that the mount commands for premounting prior to doing a chroot are out of date.
If desired I can suggest modifications on this one to bring it up to date for the current status for fedora releases
Metadata Update from @anthonymcglone:
@computersavvy please go ahead with the modifications, I'll drop myself from the assignment and look at some of the other tickets. I hadn't made much progress.
Modified the article:
The article still needs improvement. @computersavvy, I would really appreciate suggestion to improve this article.
Alternately, we can remove the part about live CD, restrict this article to the boot procedure and just link to the grub2 article as an alternative to the boot procedure. Probably, we should decide for that solution, if we don't get a fix of the live CD part.
After a positive feedback from the user list and a short discussion with Chris, I think we should accept the article as it currently is, and close the issue. Any objections?
Metadata Update from @computersavvy:
I am a little lost here. Was able to clone the quick docs and find the document but do not know how to submit changes. Pagure is not the same as github in submitting changes.
I have made the changes I feel appropriate and attached a diff for the file
"reset-root-password.adoc"
If you agree then please merge the changes in and if not then please alter
as needed before merging in.
It seems I need some instruction on how to do a pull request and provide
updates on pagure.
Thanks
Jeff

The root account / password is no longer available to set up from the Anaconda installer, and needs to be done after completing installation after first boot on Fedora Workstation. On the Spins, they do offer to set up the root password during the install process.
So to note, Fedora Workstation has removed this option, but the Spins continue to offer the option at install.
